Most people feel relaxed and more aligned with their mind body and spirit. Sometimes one session is enough, however in my experience the most benefits will typically happen over a course of several sessions. Everyone is unique in their healing journey and I like to discuss and suggest a more tailored plan for each client.
Reiki is linked to range of emotional and physical health benefits such as improved mood, better sleep and pain relief in published studies. Reiki helps the body return to a state of relaxation, which allows it to potentially better heal from damage brought on by injury, stress, or diseases.
It is my firm believe that Reiki is somehow in my genes, my instructor is also convinced that this is so, as a result of how quickly I had mastered much of the intricacies of Reiki.
I am from rural Jamaica and my maternal grandmother was a renounced midwife and healer. In those days, health care was very limited where I lived, and so persons had to rely on traditional healers.
As a child, I was often called to rub and massage persons who were in pain or other distress. So then it was not surprise that I felt myself impulsively gravitating to healing, massaging and the general well-being of others.
My interest in Reiki began in January, 2023 when I went into a bookstore and saw a Reiki book for beginners. I heard of Reiki but had never given it any deep consideration I bought the book and began reading it.
Faith would have it that the resident that I cared for, daughter is a Reiki practitioner. I told her of the book that I had bought, and we began to discuss Reiki. The daughter gave me a Reiki textbook and also gave me a session. I felt assured that it was something for me and I began attending classes. I am happy to say that I am now a Reiki practitioner.
